Principal's Message

August 2017

Dear Mission Families,

On behalf of our school staff, I welcome you to Mission Elementary School. Those of you who have been part of our school community already know what a special place Mission Elementary is.  Those of you who are new to our school, you will find our school to be warm, accepting, and dedicated to providing all students with a safe and challenging learning experience.  Students at Mission learn grade level standards through integrated units of study and the use of technology.  Teachers at Mission help students develop 21st Century Skills by fostering critical thinking and problem solving in all core content.  At Mission, students learn to work in collaboration with peers and teachers, to communicate effectively and to develop an innovative way of thinking.

We encourage you to get involved in our school activities.  Your involvement in school will increase the academic success of your student.  One way you can get involved is by volunteering as a classroom/school helper and/or being a chaperone on field trips.  You may also join our school Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or our School Site Council.  We truly value your support as we team to make Mission Elementary the best school.

Please support your students at home by making sure they complete their homework assignments, by maintaining ongoing communication with their teachers, and by attending school events.  School events are announced through call outs and listed in our monthly newsletter, which is sent home the last Wednesday of the month.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to a very successful school year.

Sincerely,   Glenda Robinson Cuevas
